Tell us what matters to you – help create a community vision

The Mid Copeland GDF Community Partnership is reaching out as part of its activities around the Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) programme, to give people an opportunity to get involved in creating a community vision by considering what is important to them.

Working together
As part of this visioning work, the Community Partnership would like to know what matters to local people by gathering a wide range of opinions, views and ideas.

Consider what you value most about living in this area. What would make the area a good place to live for future generations? What, if any, big changes would you like to see?

A GDF is an underground facility designed to safely and securely dispose of the UK’s most hazardous radioactive waste.

Share your views
Community visioning forums are being held for people to get involved. Explore what you would like to see in the near and long term in relaxed and informal sessions with refreshments provided.

Anyone under 18 who would like to attend a community forum must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Choose one of four events:

  • Wednesday, September 18; 9-11am, Gosforth Public Hall

  • Thursday, September 19; 10-12noon, Beckermet Reading Rooms
  • Thursday, September 19; 2-4pm, Thornhill Social Club

Another round of events will take place in November and registration will be open for those from September 20th.
