New opportunities in store for W.Milligan & Sons
W. Milligan and Sons and their very clever grandchildren, Helen and Jonathan, have been selling and servicing brand new and previously enjoyed cars since 1966 and New Ford cars since 1981.
However, changes are afoot for this well-respected and much-loved family dealership.
Co-Director Jonathan said, “It’s not doom and gloom; it’s simply a change of direction by Ford, who are restructuring their business model.
We currently hold two franchises for Ford: a retail dealer (sales) and an authorised repairer (service and warranty).
Ford Motor Company has decided to move towards an agency-model of sales, coupled with a smaller range of cars and electric vehicles. Ford is looking to reduce the number of dealerships while retaining the majority of these dealerships as authorised repairers.
As a result, along with a number of other Ford Car dealers, 2024 will be our final year selling new Ford cars from our Market Street showroom.
Our Ford franchise for service and warranty will remain unchanged at our King Street Workshop, and our sales site for nearly new and used cars at Haverigg will remain Open. However, our new car showroom will close at the end of 2024.”
As 2024 will be the last year of selling new Ford cars, Jonathan and the team are going all out to make this a bumper final year to remember. As such, there will be lots of offers and deals in 2024.
Jonathan explained, “It is always our aim to be open and transparent with our customers, and we look forward to the changes we have coming over the next 12 months and beyond. We would like to thank everyone who has supported our new car sales showroom during the last 58 years! It has been our pleasure to serve each and every customer.”
