Slimmers lose 2,011 stone in 2023!

Super slimmers who attend Slimming World groups in Carlisle Central have lost a whopping 28,157 pounds in weight—that’s the equivalent of a fire engine, as pictured. That’s a phenomenal achievement for the members.

All together, the members attending groups across Team Carlisle Central Slimming World groups are now 2,011 stone lighter than they were when they entered 2023. The groups are held throughout the week in Carlisle and run by consultants Emma Davies, Sally Whitfield, Kate Whalen, and Jo Grey, who, between them, have over 30 years of experience in their roles as Slimming World consultants and have helped hundreds of members achieve their personal target weight and maintain their new slim life forever.

The members, who attend their group every week, follow Slimming World’s Food Optimising eating plan created by the organisation’s team of expert nutritionists, which encourages them to fill up on satisfying foods such as pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat and fish, pulses, fruit, and vegetables.

Members say: “Filling up on lots of satisfying foods means you’re never hungry, so they never feel as though they’re on a diet. Before losing weight, members often believed that losing weight meant going to the gym and counting calories. But it’s about making healthier choices around food and becoming a bit more active.

“Reaching this milestone as a team just proves the huge change that we’ve all made to our lives; some people who’ve lost big amounts of weight have probably even saved their lives. It’s brilliant to celebrate together as well because that’s how we’ve been losing weight—together. Every week we support and encourage each other and share tips and recipes, and on top of that, we have a lot of fun.

“The support and inspiration we get from our consultants each week has also been integral to our success. Because they’ve lost weight themselves, they understand the ups and downs of slimming and can offer us help and advice based on their own experience; without them, I don’t think we’d have achieved nearly as much.”
