Why not make the most of the weather and take part in our garden wildlife photography competition?
Whether your outside space is a window box or a few acres, we’d love to see the wildlife you’re enjoying on your doorstep. We may be in lockdown, but the flowers are in bloom, bees are buzzing, insects are scurrying and our birds are nesting…
Cumbria may be famous for its dramatic peaks and vast lakes, but you don’t need to take more than a few steps to snap something beautiful and fascinating. That’s why we’re interested in the little things this year – and you could be in with a chance of winning a prize!
Prizes up for grabs
12 winning photographs will feature in Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s 2021 Calendar. The overall winner will also feature on the calendar’s front cover.
Plus! The overall winner will receive a £100 voucher for camera equipment. Second place will receive a £50 voucher. Third place will receive a £25 voucher.
How to Enter
The competition opens on Friday 17 April 2020 and the closing date for submissions is Midnight on Sunday 28 June 2020. Submissions received after this time will not be eligible.
Entrants may enter a maximum of six images altogether.

How will the winners be selected?
Winners will be chosen by Cumbria Wildlife Trust members in a vote. Voting will run from 3 July – 12 July 2020.
Helpful hints
This year’s photo competition entries should celebrate the endlessly interesting and amazing species you encounter where you live.
Whether it’s interesting animal behaviour, stand-out flora, unusual insects or familiar friends – capturing these encounters on camera is a wonderfully satisfying way to preserve your connection with nature too, especially when our world has become so much smaller recently.
