Choose from King, Double, Single or a Four Poster Room with a king-sized bed, each room is luxurious with en-suite bathrooms, white crisp linen, fluffy towels, Duck Island luxury products, WIFI broadband access and flatscreen digital television/DVD player.

The small relaxed and intimate dining room seats up to 28 guests including 2 additional private dining areas.  There are daily specials and a table d’hote menu, which changes with the seasons. The menus are designed with a modern twist on traditional food, using local produce where possible.

For private functions, the chef can offer a tailor-made table d’hote menu together with the exclusivity of the dining room for the evening.  West Lakes Hotel also has a very good selection of World wines.

Start your day with a made to order cooked breakfast, options include the full English breakfast of Bacon, Sausage, Black Pudding, Tomato, Mushrooms, Baked Beans and Eggs cooked to your liking.  While lighter options include Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs, or French Toast with Bacon and Maple Syrup.

The lounge bar is large, bright, airy with comfortable chairs to sink into.  Relax and unwind, perhaps with a pre-dinner drink, or after-dinner coffee. On warmer days you can sit out in the sunshine on the decked terrace area which leads out from the bar and there are also several picnic benches located within the gardens.

The bar is well stocked including a good selection of malt whiskies and gins including “The One” which is distilled right here in the Lake District.

Westlakes Hotel is ideally located for fell walking in the Lake District with many Wainwright peaks within easy reach of the hotel including Scafell Pike, Great Gable, Kirk Fell, Lingmell, Yewbarrow, Whinrigg and Illgill to name just a few.  Blengdale Forest is close by and you can enjoy walking trails through the forest. 

The award-winning Muncaster Castle is less than ten minutes away and the nearby La’al Ratty is a highlight of any trip to the area.  The 7-mile small-gauge train ride is a must.

The location means you’re never far away from adventure, whether it’s just two of you wanting to experience a guided activity to a business team building.  West Lakes Adventure provides stand up paddleboarding, canoeing & kayaking, ghyll scrambling, canyoning, climbing and mountain biking in the Wasdale and Eskdale Valleys.

Westlakes Hotel offers a choice of two meeting rooms for conferences, the “Haverigg Suite” and the “Lowden Room”.

The Haverigg Suite is a purpose-built soundproof room which is ideal for small meetings or larger conferences. It accommodates 24 delegates Boardroom style, 27 U-shape and 40 in Theatre style. The conference suite includes a projector and screen with stereo sound, USB ports, telephone conference facilities, disabled access, pads, pens and flipcharts.

They also have the Lowden room for smaller meetings of up to 10 delegates seated U-shape, or 12 Boardroom, this room offers natural light with a projector and screen available, pads pens and a flipchart – the Lowden Room also offers to smaller adjoining break out rooms.

They can also offer exclusivity of the hotel, which would include the conference facilities and 10 individually designed guest rooms for overnight accommodation.
