Friday 11 November at 7:30 pm: We are delighted to welcome back author John Little, who will talk about “Britain’s Quiet Revolution”. Between 1914-1918 the hothouse of war offered the opportunity for women to do things they had never thought possible. Hundreds of thousands  seized the chance to participate in a quiet revolution that opened a Pandora’s box from which they liberated themselves, and which could never be closed. There is also another chance to see the Maryport Women in War exhibition during November www.maryportwomeninwar.com
Tickets for the talk £6 (including refreshments) via the Settlement web site www.maryportsettlement.org.uk or pay can at the door.
Friday 9 December is our festive feast of harp and guitar “Celtic Christmas Strings” with Chris Newman & Marie Ni Chathasaigh (see attached poster). Tickets £12 adults, £6 under 18/students. Tickets via the Settlement web site.
The Settlement will be open as a Warm Spot on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 noon to 3 pm, starting tomorrow. We need volunteers to greet people and chat. If anyone can help, please contact Jim ([email protected] ) or Christine ([email protected] )
Finally, we are in need of some new Trustees for Castlehill Trust, if the Settlement is going to stay in business. If anyone, can help, please contact Jim or Christine.
