Hydration is key!

Water is your best friend all through the year. It doesn’t matter if the sun is shining or if it’s raining cats and dogs. Without drinking the recommended 2L a day you might as well bin all those moisturisers and creams you have stocked up on. If you want to get rid of dry skin and crave healthy hair then water should be the first bottle you reach for in the morning. And of course, plenty of water has massive benefits for your overall health.

SPF SPF SPF!!

No, the sun does not just switch off its harmful UV rays when it turns the heat down. Dermatologists recommend you wear a strong SPF daily, every season, 365 days of the year. This is the best way to protect your skin from the long list of damage the sun can cause so make it part of your daily routine. If you wear foundation daily then perhaps look for a product that has SPF in it.

Get a good moisturiser.

We previously mentioned that moisturisers are no good if you’re not drinking enough water, however, with plenty of water and a good moisturiser you can ensure your skin does not succumb to the icy air and dry central heating. Do your research though and find which type you need for your specific skin type.

Look after your locks.

It’s not just your skin that needs some TLC during the colder months, your hair is also vulnerable during this time. You can help prevent dry breakage-prone hair simply by making a few changes. Wearing a hat can protect your hair from the elements so layer up. One of the best ways to give your hair a boost is a weekly hair mask and avoid heat styling where you can.

The winter can be harsh on your hair and skin so by taking these points into consideration you can feel and look your best this season.
