Oak Tree’s Easter Dogs’ Day Out
Oak Tree Animals’ Charity is hosting their annual Fun Dog Show and Easter day out on 23rd March from 10.00am to 3.00pm. There will be lots to do for everyone in the family, most importantly your dog!
Cumbria Police are bringing along the police dogs and will be demonstrating their work from 10.00am to 12.30pm. We will also be joined by our partner vets and Rusty’s Treat Box who have generously donated lots of dog treats to Oak Tree. There will also be a dog photo booth, £5 for a digital image by the talented Dean Whitehall and Natalie Boyne.
Be sure to pop into Orchard Yard to browse for some bargains in the Jumble Sale, Second-hand Pet equipment Shop and The Tack Shack! Our Tearoom will be serving lots of delicious refreshments and don’t forget to take a look in our gift shop at the same time.
Liz Fell, Fundraising Officer, said: “Here at Oak Tree we’re all excited to welcome everyone to our Easter Dogs’ Day Out on Saturday March 23rd.
We have lots of easter-themed games and crafts, tombolas, a brilliant raffle, and lots of great prizes to be won, all kindly donated by our amazing supporters.
There’s lots for your four-legged friends too with a doggy-lucky-dip, dog photo booth, and our famous Fun Dog Show, as well as a special appearance by the Cumbria Police and their police dogs. We hope you enjoy a fab family day out!”
Fun Dog Show
The main event will of course be their annual Fun Dog Show where your canine companions can compete in some light-hearted competitions. It will be £3 per class or £5 for 2 where you register on the day.

- Happiest Hound – for the dogs who love their lives!
- Look-a-like – for the dogs who look most like their owners!
- Musical Sits – like musical chairs, but for your dog!
- Loveliest Lady- for our female companions!
- Fabulous Fella – for our male companions!
- Best Treat Catcher – for the dogs most partial to food!
- Egg and Spoon Race – for dogs and their owners!
- Best Rescue – for the much-loved rescue dogs!
- Best Trick – for the dogs who like to show off!
- Golden Oldie – for the dogs in their prime over 9+!
