Members and supporters from We Support West Cumbria Mining will be on hand to welcome the panel and show their support en masse for the proposed Mine.

John Greasley from WSWCM said ” We invite anyone who is in favour and wants their voice to be heard to stand with us on Monday and show the panel what local people really think about the proposal and all the positives it will bring to our region. We as a support group for the mine have been inundated with messages of support and our social media pages have grown fourfold over the last month. There has been a small band of protesters voicing their opinions, mainly people from out of the county, however, our supporters cannot wait to welcome the panel and voice our support for this much needed, world class project”

This project which would see the World’s first ‘net-zero’ Underground Mine has been ongoing for five years with approval given from Cumbria County Council on three separate occasions.

“The Coking Coal which is to be extracted would be used in the Steel Industry, not the domestic market but would in fact be used in the steel making process of producing a variety of things, including Wind Turbines and other materials used in  Green projects.” said Ste Murphy from WSWCM. ” We look forward to welcoming the panel and invite all to come along on Monday 4th Oct to voice your support, be sure to follow us on facebook for updates at We Support West Cumbria Mining
