From the dramatic fells of the Lake District to the wild coasts of Wales and the highland passes of Scotland, the study shows just how many unforgettable journeys are waiting right on our doorstep.
Topping the list is the 30-mile stretch from Kendal to Keswick in the Lake District (30%), following the A591 past Windermere and Lakeland fells.
“It’s fantastic to see how much Brits appreciate our incredible scenery.”

Close behind is the iconic Loch Lomond to Glencoe drive (29%), which passes through Argyll Forest Park and alongside Loch Tulla and Loch Ba.
UK’s Top 10 Scenic Drives:
- Kendal to Keswick, Lake District
- Loch Lomond to Glencoe, Scottish Highlands
- The Coastal Way, Wales
- Cheddar Gorge, Somerset
- The New Forest, Hampshire
- Lake District Western Loop
- Llanberis Pass, Snowdonia
- Dartmoor National Park, Devon
- Causeway Coastal Route, Northern Ireland
- North Coast 500, Scotland
Other favourites include Wales’ Coastal Way (23%), the dramatic Cheddar Gorge (21%), and the New Forest (20%), with its peaceful woodland scenery. The Lake District’s Western Loop (18%), Llanberis Pass in Snowdonia (15%), Dartmoor National Park (12%) and Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coastal Route (10%) also made the top spots, showcasing the sheer variety of landscapes across the UK.
It’s no surprise that 92% of Brits believe the UK has some of the best road trips in the world, while two-thirds say driving here can be just as enjoyable as going abroad. On average, people take seven UK road trips a year, covering around 93 miles each time – most often with partners (63%), children (34%) or best friends (20%) along for the ride.

Almost nine in ten (88%) even consider the journey itself part of the holiday, though barriers such as fuel costs (42%) and lack of time (44%) can hold them back. Having the right car matters too, with 9% saying theirs isn’t big enough for the trip.
George Wallis, Head of Marketing at Isuzu UK, said: “It’s fantastic to see how much Brits appreciate our incredible scenery, with routes like Kendal to Keswick and Loch Lomond to Glencoe topping the list. With the dependable Isuzu D-Max, drivers can take on everything from Cheddar Gorge to Llanberis Pass with ease – and pick up amazing memories, one scenic stop at a time.”
