The preview for this exciting event is Saturday, March 2nd. This will be a great chance to get a first glimpse and a glass of something to wet the appetite for all things arty.

As Picasso once said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

As always, everyone is invited, and Team GNW would love to see you there.

Shorlines: Sarah Reid

From her Penrith base, Sarah explores the Lakes, Cumbrian coastline, and the Eden Valley, which inspires her work.

Sarah is fascinated by the ever-changing light on the landscape and our place within it.

Working primarily in pastel, her work captures an emotional response to the scenery and invites the viewer to explore the scene, drawn in by unexpected hints of light and colour to provoke a real sense of being. Drawing on experience and memories to create timeless yet contemporary expressions of our landscape.

Shorelines is an exhibition to both excite and soothe, with gritty realism combined with tranquil musings, celebrating our unique Cumbrian landscape and its ever-changing moods.

Home and Away: Annie Stride

Annie, a local artist in Brampton, has worked in pastels, watercolours, and acrylics for over 30 years. A regular exhibitor at Gallery Northwest, Annie is also a vital member of the GNW management team.

Drawing much inspiration from time spent with her family and dog Dexter in the countryside surrounding her home near Brampton, but also from the many trips throughout the UK and far away from home.

This exhibition is inspired by revisiting photos, sketches, and memories of these special trips. The result is “Home and Away.”.

Annie said, “The challenges have come from trying to capture the different lights and moods, using different approaches on occasion. The experience of creating artwork from my own life experiences has been motivating and filled with fun.

So breathe—take some time out for yourself and feed your soul!

Join fellow art lovers at the gallery for this exhibition, starting Saturday, March 2nd.
