Six-time world record holder shows how driving style can help cut your fuel costs.

With fuel costs continuing to put pressure on household budgets, Dacia has teamed up with six-time Guinness World Record holder Kevin Booker to help drivers get more from every tank.
New research from Dacia found that 62% of UK motorists have reduced how much they drive over the past three months. Kevin, an expert in fuel-efficient driving, has already achieved around a 29% improvement in fuel economy while testing the Dacia Duster Journey hybrid 155, increasing its efficiency from the official 61.4mpg to approximately 79mpg through driving techniques alone.
For the average driver, that improvement could save around £190 per year in fuel costs, rising to around £265 annually for those covering 10,000 miles.
Kevin says fuel efficiency is achieved through a combination of smoother driving, anticipating traffic, maintaining a steady speed, reducing unnecessary weight, keeping tyres correctly inflated and making full use of the vehicle’s technology, including regenerative braking.

“The key is learning how to work with the car to make the most of it,” said Kevin. “If you read the road ahead, avoid harsh acceleration and braking, and let the hybrid system do what it is designed to do, you can make a real difference.”
Dacia’s research suggests motorists are keen to improve efficiency, with 63% saying they only drive when necessary and 44% trying to maintain a steady speed on motorways.
