Work continues at Siddick Woodland

Siddick

The revamp of Siddick Woodland continues on Tuesday 3 April with a volunteer planting day from 11am to 1pm.

Volunteers will assist with the planting of a variety of new shrubs on the site, including holly, hazel, crab apple and elder. The shrubs will contribute to the biodiversity of the woodland as well as complementing the fifty new trees that were planted on the site back in February.

The project is being managed by Workington Town Council and funded by Wythegill Community Benefit Fund. The woodland is situated next to the village play area and accessed from Shore Side.

The planting day is open to all ages and no previous experience is required to participate. Equipment will be supplied but participants are advised to wear clothing and footwear suitable for working outdoors. Anyone interested in assisting with planting should contact Workington Town Council for further details: 01900 702986 or office@workingtontowncouncil.gov.uk
