Whitehaven Rugby Union pull together for the NHS
Whitehaven Rugby Union have raised over £2000.00 for the NHS in less than a week with
the launch of their Charity NHS Rugby Shirts.
The idea for launching the NHS logoed WRUFC shirts was pulled together by current player/committee
member, Jordan Mattinson and Youth Chair Glynn Thomson.
Jordan said ” We know people are going through a tough time and we know how brilliant our NHS workers
have always been and even more so through this current pandemic, we simply wanted to try and do our bit
and thought we would manage to raise a couple of hundred pounds in the process”
Little did Jordan and Glynn realise how quickly this would escalate.
Jordan explained, “With every shirt bought, one hundred percent of the profits goes direct to the NHS,
every single penny. I want to take this opportunity to say Thank You to everyone for backing it and
buying into this. I can’t believe over 267 shirts have gone in the first week, I can’t thank people
enough for their support, especially in these tough times.”
