RECIPE: Black Forest Icecream
BLACK FOREST ICECREAM
This indulgent Black Forest Ice Cream is a rich, creamy dessert that brings together classic flavours of dark chocolate and juicy cherries for a truly irresistible treat.
Perfect for warm days or special occasions, it is surprisingly simple to make at home with just a handful of ingredients. No ice cream maker needed!
PREP TIME: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 300ml double cream
- 1 can (397g) sweetened condensed milk
- 150g Opies cherries with kirsch, drained and chopped
- 50g dark chocolate, chopped
Method:
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the double cream until soft peaks form.
- Gradually pour in the sweetened condensed milk while continuing to whip the cream until it becomes thick and forms stiff peaks.
- Gently fold in the chopped Opies cherries with kirsch until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Fold in the chopped dark chocolate until it is evenly distributed in the mixture.
- Transfer the mixture into a freezer-safe container, spreading it out evenly.
- Cover the container with a lid or cling film and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight, until the ice cream is firm.
- Once the ice cream is fully frozen and firm, remove it from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly before serving.
