Get Creative This Summer at Rosehill Theatre
Rosehill Theatre is inviting families, budding performers and artists of all ages to enjoy a packed programme of creative events throughout the summer holidays.
Running from 22 July to 22 August, the free Art Lab is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am-3pm, transforming Rosehill’s top floor into a hands-on creative space where families can enjoy arts, crafts and imaginative play at no cost.
Children aged 5-12 can also join the Summer Drama Club, taking place every Wednesday from 22 July to 19 August at 10am. Each 90-minute session explores a different theatre skill, from storytelling and puppet making to improvisation and stage combat. Sessions cost £5 per child or £20 for all five weeks, with accompanying adults attending free.
The programme also includes a variety of one-off events, including SumArt To Do: Summer Bunting on 22 July (£4 per participant), a free Still Life Painting session for adults on 23 July, and the launch of The People’s Gallery exhibition on 24 July, where visitors can enjoy complimentary drinks while exploring work by local artists.
Creative adults can enjoy the free Art Social evenings on 28 July and 25 August, while younger visitors can dance, sing and dress up at the K-Pop Party on 1 August (£8 per child, £2 for additional siblings). The Rosehill Garden Party follows on 8 August, offering free family fun with live music, games, food and stalls.
The summer programme concludes with a free Sunset Painting session overlooking the Solway on 13 August, and a Life Drawing class on 20 August (£18) for adults looking to develop their artistic skills.
Whether you’re looking for free family activities, creative workshops or opportunities to discover local art, Rosehill Theatre has something to inspire visitors of every age this summer.
