LAKELAND SOFA WAREHOUSE
Comfort, quality and family values in the heart of Carlisle.

Located in Denton Holme, Carlisle, Lakeland Sofa Warehouse (LSW) has quickly become one of Cumbria’s favourite destinations for stylish, affordable, and comfortable sofas.
Since opening its doors in 2022, this family-run business has gone from strength to strength, and as owner Peter proudly says, it’s “getting bigger and bigger” every year.
Originally split between a small shop front and a warehouse, the business has now expanded into one large open showroom after customers kept asking to see more of their ever-growing range. Today, visitors can explore three spacious rooms filled with an impressive selection of sofas, sofa beds, and recliners, both manual and electric. Behind the showroom lies a fully stocked warehouse, ensuring plenty of choice and fast delivery times.
Lakeland Sofa Warehouse stands out for its personal touch and hands-on experience.
“You can’t sit on a sofa online,” Peter explains. “Here, you can come in, have a chat, try them out, and know exactly what you’re getting.”
Shoppers can choose their preferred dimensions, firmness, and fabrics from a wide range of swatches, making each sofa bespoke to their home.
Most sofa sets are under £2,000, with free delivery across the UK, and all fabric sofas are UK-made and come with five years of complimentary insurance, giving customers both comfort and peace of mind. LSW has also started importing recliner sets directly from the manufacturer, allowing them to offer even better prices than many national stores, and with a much quicker turnaround for delivery, saving customers both time and money.
Having lived in Cumbria since the age of 10, Peter takes pride in providing quality furniture and friendly, local service. With over 20 years of experience in the furniture industry, including work with leading names such as Argos and Furniture Village, the LSW team combines professional expertise with genuine care for their customers.
Open Tuesday to Sunday, Lakeland Sofa Warehouse invites everyone to come and see, sit, and feel the difference for themselves. Whether you’re looking for a luxurious recliner, a family-friendly corner sofa, or a stylish bespoke set, you’ll find it at Atlas Works, Nelson Street, Carlisle, where comfort truly comes home.
And there’s even more to look forward to, from 2026, Lakeland Sofa Warehouse will be introducing an interest-free finance option, making it easier than ever to find the perfect sofa to suit your home and budget.
