Whitehaven’s newest festival to host Radio DJ Chris Moyles!
Whitehaven’s newest festival is bringing big names to their upcoming event on the harbour.
Their Friday headline act is Legendary radio DJ Chris Moyels who is bringing his new 90’s Hangover tour to Whitehaven harbour on Friday 9th September.
Chris will take the audience on a journey back to the 90s to celebrate an unforgettable decade of music. Whether you sided with Blur or Oasis or put on your bucket hat and white gloves to go raving, this show leaves no musical stone unturned, and as always with Chris Moyles behind the decks, expect the unexpected!
Best known for his 8 year run as a BBC Radio One DJ, Chris now hosts his own show on Radio X. Chris will be a part of Whitehaven Alive, a brand-new festival which is to be held from 9th-11th September featuring famous faces, live entertainment, food and drink villages, Cumbrian producers, and street theatre across the stunning Whitehaven Harbour.
The event which is in partnership with Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners will welcome tens of thousands of people across the weekend and aims to boost the local economy and raise funds to put back into the improvements around Whitehaven Harbour and put Whitehaven back on the map!
Co-founder Oliver Hodgson said: “Chris’ vibrant and energetic approach will create an unforgettable experience. He’s an amazing addition to our weekend line-up of headline entertainment. His high-energy performance will make for the perfect weekend opener and will add to the already exciting programme. Our festival aims to reignite not only the local economy but also boost local morale. We’re expecting ticket sales to sell quickly for this one and would encourage early booking.”
Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners’ Chief Executive John Baker added: “What a way to complete the headliners for Whitehaven Alive than with a DJ legend. Cannot wait for Chris to kick off the first ever Whitehaven Alive with no doubt a classic set to have everyone in party mood to start what will be a fantastic fun-filled weekend.”
Tickets are on sale now for Chris’ headline concert on Queens Dock concert and are available at whitehavenalive.com
