Summer Roman Festival
Roman Roadshow Open Day
with Magnus and Flavia
Monday 22nd July; 11am – 4:30pm
Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the UK shared Prosperity Fund the Open Day includes a chance to find out more about Roman life and food with Magnus and Flavia, a special guided tour of the fort, family-friendly craft activities and presentation about the exciting plans for the museum.
Free admission for all.
Wednesday 24th July, Wednesday 31st July, Wednesday 7th August, Wednesday 14th August, Wednesday 21st August; 2 – 4pm
Using recycled materials families can learn and play together to create their own Roman-inspired crafts.
Included in the museum admission.
Roman Pottery
with Graham Taylor of Potted History
Thursday 25th July, Wednesday 31st July, Thursday 1st August, Friday 9th August; 11am – 4:30pm
Graham Taylor is well known as an inspiring and entertaining potter, who has created replica pots from all eras for museums and historic sites. Museum visitors can discover Roman pottery and get their hands dirty having a go themselves.

Maryport Taste of the Sea Festival
Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th August
Over the weekend our outreach team can be found in the town centre with our Roman Roadshow. Magnus and Flavia will be joining us to bring Roman life and food to life. This will be our final Reimagining Roman Maryport Open Day and you can find out more about the plans for the museum and how you can get involved.
