The Old Bank, Carlisle, Awarded Gastro Pub of the Year!
The Old Bank, in Carlisle, has been awarded the prestigious title of Gastro Pub of the Year for Cumbria at the SME News Northern Enterprise Awards!
Owner Matt Rayson is cock-a-hoop, and rightly so. Matt said, “We are beyond proud to announce that we’ve been named 2025’s Gastropub of the Year for Cumbria at the SME News Northern Enterprise Awards!
“This award is extra special because it started with YOU – the nominations from our incredible customers, and was then judged by a panel of independent industry experts who chose us as the overall winners.”
“Honestly… it’s absolutely mind-blowing! A huge achievement for us and one that makes all the long days, late nights, family sacrifices, and hard work from myself and the entire team completely worth it.”
“Thank you to every single one of you who supports us day after day, week after week, year after year. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you.”
“For me personally, this means more than words can say. From dreaming at 5 years old of owning a restaurant to receiving an award like this, it’s incredibly emotional and humbling. And to celebrate it in our 10th year makes it even more special! From the bottom of our hearts… thank you!”
This accolade is a testament to the passion, dedication, and hard work put forth by the team, as well as the unwavering support from their loyal customers. The decision to crown The Old Bank as the overall winner speaks volumes about the pub’s commitment to excellence in food, service, and atmosphere.
