Silloth to St Bees Charity Bike Ride Saturday 29th June 2024

St Bees School gears up for charity bike ride from Silloth to St Bees.

This Saturday, 29th June, St Bees School will embark on an inspiring journey as ten students and five staff members take on a 35-mile charity bike ride from Silloth to St Bees along Hadrian’s Cycleway.

The event aims to raise funds for Team Evie, the school’s chosen charity for the 2023/24 academic year.

The picturesque route will see the cyclists traverse the beautiful Cumbrian landscape, combining the physical challenge of the ride with the noble goal of supporting children with serious health conditions and their families. The charity, Team Evie, is dedicated to improving the lives of these children, providing essential resources and support.

Headmaster, Mr Andrew Keep, expressed pride in the participants, saying, “Our students and staff have shown remarkable dedication to this cause.

“Their commitment not only highlights their physical endurance but also their willingness to make a positive impact in the community.”

The bike ride is a testament to the school’s values of perseverance, teamwork, and community service. It provides an excellent opportunity for students and staff to bond, promote a healthy lifestyle, and contribute to a worthy cause. The entire school community is rallying behind the riders.

The cyclists are set to depart from Silloth in the early morning, expected to reach St Bees by late afternoon.

The school has set up a JustGiving page to facilitate donations and sponsorships. Those who wish to support can contribute to this noble cause by visiting the page at: https://buff.ly/3KZ1iIo

Every donation will go directly to Team Evie, helping to provide critical support to children in need.
