Whether you’re a lifelong sci-fi fan or just curious about the future of technology, the upcoming Robots, Androids & Cyborgs Exhibition in Whitehaven is a must-visit.
Organised by Whitehaven Town Council, the exhibition will showcase a stunning collection of life-size robots, androids, and cyborgs from iconic films and TV, including Star Wars, Forbidden Planet, Star Trek and more.
Adding to the excitement, local robotics companies that collaborate with Sellafield will be on hand. They’ll be displaying real-world robots, sharing insights into how these machines are helping industries thrive, and explaining the vital role robotics play in keeping sites like Sellafield operating safely and efficiently.
Gerard Richardson from the Whitehaven Town Council said: “It’s something really different and really relevant to us here in West Cumbria. Sellafield relies on robots and we think it’s really good to show the contrast of how the old scifi movies portrayed robots to the present day reality.”
Running for 10 days in the historic Whitehaven News Building—soon to be transformed into the new Whitehaven Town Council offices, the exhibition marks a fitting launch for the Whitehaven Town Councils new head quarters, of which they have exciting plans.
