Prism Arts returns to Tullie this July with a vibrant exhibition takeover showcasing new work created over the past year by artists from Prism Arts’ Carlisle-based progressive studio.
Building on the success of PRISM 2025, this year’s exhibition presents an entirely new body of work developed within the studio over the last year. Across painting, drawing, digital work, moving image and mixed media, PRISM 2026 highlights the vivid individual styles and evolving creative practices of Prism Arts artists.
Taking over key public spaces throughout the museum, PRISM 2026 transforms how visitors move through and experience the building. The exhibition showcases colour and joy, explores identity and lived experience, and challenges cultural perceptions of difference.
As an Arts Council England-funded progressive artist studio with a national presence, Prism Arts continues to create space for bold, visible, and diverse artistic voices within major cultural venues.

What to Expect
- Artwork throughout Tullie
A bold presentation of artwork across key public spaces, welcoming visitors into the exhibition from the moment they enter the building.
- Moving image and digital work in the Lecture Theatre
A continuous looped showreel presenting film and digital practice alongside visual art throughout the exhibition period.
- Outdoor displays in the gardens
Returning Garden Boards extend the exhibition beyond the gallery walls, sharing artistic journeys, ideas, and creative exploration in an outdoor setting.
- Changing and evolving displays
Selected works will appear at different points during the exhibition, including opening days and weekends, encouraging visitors to return and discover new additions.
- Artist-led experiences
Artist-led tours and creative encounters will offer visitors the opportunity to experience the exhibition through the perspectives of Prism Arts creatives themselves.
