PHOTOGRAPHER IN FOCUS: Paul Wharton

During the day Paul Wharton can be found bestowing knowledge upon the next generation as a College Lecturer, however in his spare time he can be found hunting for that perfect shot.

Armed with his Nikon Z5 camera and one of his multiple lenses, he captures some of the most spectacular moments, from stunning misty lakes to dream-like sunsets, his photos are awe-inspiring.

He took up photography in 2010 and simply caught the bug, he refined his skills and you just have to look at his photos to see what he can do.

“The tips I would give to anyone who is looking to get into photography are; Look for photo opportunities with colour.

Examples include sunrises, sunsets, wildflowers and plants, animals, northern lights and autumn. Also, always watch the weather forecast, for high pressure weather systems with no wind where there is a chance of inversions, mist and reflections early in the morning. This means you need to be out before the sunrises and early mornings are peaceful where no one gets in the way of your photos.”
