Tim Allison is an artist with phenomenal talent. Like a magician, with his pencil as his wand, he can bring a drawing to life.
He specialises in animal and pet portraits and draws pictures that capture the character of the individuals he sketches. Hailing originally from Staffordshire, Tim has lived in Cumbria most of his life and has been drawing since a young age. He said, “I’ve been drawing ever since I was a young child, as far back as I can remember. – I find that creating art is very cathartic for me. I am obsessed with detail, and I’m constantly trying to refine my work. Drawing is almost like meditation to me; I can get lost for hours and forget about everything else.”
You would hardly believe that his drawings were created with a humble pencil. Keeping it local, he primarily uses Dewent Graphic pencils as well as Faber-Castell Polychromos.
Over the last year, after some encouragement from his fiance, Tim has been doing commissions for people, specifically of their pets. He said: “I’ve always had a love for wildlife and the natural world. I can remember sketching different animals when I was a child, everything from birds to foxes to wild deer. I am also a big dog lover; I’ve never been without a dog by my side, and I know the positive impact that dogs and other pets can have on people’s lives.
I find something very rewarding about bringing animals to life on paper, capturing people’s beloved pets through my drawings, and giving my clients something that they can cherish forever.”
