Spring has sprung in Issue 32 of Cumbria Guide Magazine!
A Word from the Editor
Spring is my favourite time of the year. The air is warmer and sweeter, and everyone just seems to be that little bit more positive.
In Cumbria, I think everyone will agree it’s extra special. We start seeing the little Herdy lambs appearing, daffodils and cherry blossoms bring some colour back, and the sound of birds chirping reminds me of playing outside as a kid. I just love it.
The other exciting thing about this time of year is that we can start looking ahead. Events start popping up, people are getting out again, and this year it seems like there’s going to be lots happening all over the county.
Easter brings with it two weeks of frantic parents scrambling to find things to do to keep the little ones happy. But scramble no more, flick through the pages and you’ll soon have plenty to schedule, as there are events happening all across the county.
The Marathon Man has been at it again, setting his sights on the London Marathon. To raise money, he’s been running a marathon a day for 100 days!
We’ve also got Romans on our minds as Uncovering Roman Carlisle breaks ground once again at Carlisle Cricket Grounds, searching for yet more undiscovered history. As a self-proclaimed history nerd, I’m super excited to see what comes up this year.
‘Tis the season to get outside. Whether that’s out in your garden preparing it for the summer months, or heading out on bug hunts with the kids, you’ll find plenty of inspiration in this edition.
I hope this springtime is lovely for you. Get out and enjoy all that there is to come over the coming weeks, and fingers crossed we might even get some sunshine.
Have fun, be good,
Have fun, be kind, see you in the Spring!
