Keswick Market Celebrates 750 Years! ๐ – SATURDAY 8th AUGUST
A great day is lined up to celebrate the 750 Year anniversary of Keswick Market which was granted its Market Charter in 1276.
Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy the day and celebrate.
Step back in time and experience a day of history, entertainment, and family fun, including:
- A reenactment of the historic handover of the Market Charter
- Traders decorating their stalls in medieval style
- Medieval costumes throughout the market
- Jason the Juggling Jester bringing laughter and amazing entertainment
- Plus special appearances from Spider-Man, Elsa, and many more favourite characters for the children!
Keswick Market is managed by Phil Buyers from Cumberland Council Markets,ย Phil said: ย

The King who would have granted the market-charter was none other than Longshanks himself – Edward 1st. He died in Cumbria, in Burgh by Sands, just a few miles down the road from Keswick. A goody or baddy? Thatโs for you to decide.
