The best cafe in England is looking for a chef! Lanercost Cafe is renowned for its stunning food, gorgeous location and friendly staff and they are on the hunt to find a head chef who will fit right in.
Based just outside of Carlisle in Brampton, Lanercost Cafe is nestled within the grounds of the stunning Lanercost Priory and is run by Stefano Calcioli. Stefano took on the place and poured his heart and soul into both the cafe and gift shop and has created a space that is thoroughly enjoyed by all who visit. So much so that in 2023 they were awarded the Best Cafe in England!
Stefano said: “We are looking for someone forward thinking to join the team, we want someone to come in and work as a head chef, with ideas and initiative. We don’t want to just stay where we are, we want to give someone the opportunity to make a difference and put themselves forward.”
They are offering a competitive salary, good holidays and there is the possibility for accommodation for the right person and best of all, no split shifts.
Stefano said: “Im a strong believer in you should enjoy your job. I want my staff going home happy and not run off their feet, stressed out and tired, dreading coming to work, I want them to come to work in a friendly, happy environment where they feel valued. We all work as a team here and look after each other.”
As well as the cafe there is also a stunning gift shop. Located next to Cafe Lanercost, the gift shop offers a dynamic range of exciting and creative items sourced from the UK and beyond. With new deliveries arriving weekly, the stock constantly changes, ensuring there’s always something fresh to explore. From greeting cards to luxury skincare, unique jewelry, and bespoke home decor, the store strikes a perfect balance of quality, price, and sustainability. Alison, the owner, focuses on providing a variety of products while helping customers with styling advice and gift selection.
