The Fox and Pheasant Inn in the charming village of Armathwaite has had a complete refurbishment, and the results are stunning. In just five weeks, the entire pub, restaurant, and all guest rooms were transformed to combine modern comfort with the character and warmth that make this a true Eden Valley favourite.
The refurbishment has retained as much of the original character as possible, while updating the space to feel fresh, stylish, and welcoming. Every room is individually designed, offering a relaxing, warm retreat for guests, with contemporary touches that make staying here a real pleasure.
The pub remains a proper locals’ local, at the heart of the community, now with interiors that are as comfortable and inviting as they are beautiful.
Dining has also been revitalised. The stable barn restaurant and bar now blends cosy country charm with a contemporary feel, complete with roaring log fires. The more elegant Victorian dining rooms have been refreshed, providing the perfect setting for a slower, indulgent meal. Outside, the riverside seating area is ideal for a sunny pint, a relaxed lunch, or simply taking in the views of the River Eden.
Upstairs, ensuite rooms have been fully redecorated, many offering stunning views over the river or countryside. Each room comes with a desk, flat screen TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, and a private bathroom with bath or shower, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.
