Cumbria Guide 13 January / February 2023
Happy New Year to every one of you lovely lot!
It’s always a bit gloomy in January and February, and it always seems colder, that’s for sure.
However, to brighten up these morose months, we have put the spotlight on the many events heading our way, and there are lots of great gigs and shows lined up to keep us entertained.
Inside, we put the spotlight on Haverigg and Millom, and what a delightful surprise you are in for.
There’s so much more than meets the eye, with lots of fantastic little independents who are knocking it out of the park.
We caught up with West Cumbria’s Marathon Man, Gary McKee, who completed his epic feat of completing 365 marathons last year. Just the thought of it is crazy. He has smashed his goal of one million pounds, but you can still donate.
Are you getting married soon? We spoke to lots of industry experts who gave us lots of valuable hints, tips, and advice to help make your journey a little bit less stressful and highlight several upcoming wedding fairs.
Carlisle City of Lights returns in February, and again, this looks set to be another huge success where music, images, and light combine to blow your senses away and leave you feeling uplifted and inspired.
A massive thanks to all of our advertisers who make these possible. If you aren’t on board, then drop us a line so we can remedy that.
Have a great year and remember to keep it local where you can and support our local businesses, which I think are going to need your support now more than ever.
If you would like to get involved with The Cumbria Guide, whether you are a photographer, an artist, or someone who would like to contribute an article (related to Cumbria, of course), then drop us a line.
Stay well, stay safe, and have a happy new year!
