Geoff and Julie Nugent have built a tremendous reputation with their well-appointed, stylish self-catering accommodation, alongside a warm welcome complete with home-made scones.

“The scones are something Julie started when we opened,” said Geoff. “It was a small thing but we now try and do it for everyone because so many reviews mention the scones and we don’t want any guests to miss out.”

Coney Garth consists of three separate properties on the outskirts of the charming West Cumbrian village of Beckermet – the Cottage, the Retreat and the Barn.

“They have all been fitted to a very high standard,” said Geoff. “Initially we bought our house with a barn attached to it. I refurbished the house for us and we decided to basically rebuild the barn for holiday accommodation six years ago.

A few years later we decided to further convert another barn beside our property which created the Cottage and the Retreat. We added the hot tubs to those cottages for a touch of extra luxury.”

Coney Garth’s spacious accommodation boasts King-sized doubles and twin bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, walk-in showers and open-plan living. The modern interiors and stylish, fully-equipped kitchens contain everything you need, although you can venture into the village where you’ll find two traditional pubs offering fantastic food.

Pass your days in the Lake District National Park where you can trek up England’s highest peak or discover picturesque lakes. Alternatively, head to the coast where glorious beaches, coastal paths and breath-taking scenery awaits. Or simply relax on the patio, or hot tubs and soak up the wonderful views. As the night sets in guests can lounge on the plush sofas and make the most of the free WIFI.

Each unit sleeps four people but if large groups rent the other properties Coney Garth can host up to twelve people.
