A Taste of ABBA at The Milbourne Arms: Bottomless Brunch Bliss in Carlisle
This October, The Milbourne Arms in Carlisle is set to launch a series of themed Bottomless Brunches, and we at the Cumbria Guide were lucky enough to get an exclusive sneak peek at the trial run. With an ABBA Fever theme, the event promised great food, flowing drinks, and some fabulous entertainment. As a self-confessed Super Trooper ABBA fan, I couldn’t have been more excited to attend!
The atmosphere was electric from the start. Unlike many bottomless brunches where you have to wait for constant refills, here the bottles were left on the table, letting everyone enjoy the afternoon at their own pace. It felt more relaxed and allowed us to fully enjoy the experience.
Now, let’s talk food! I went for the burger, and from the very first bite, it was clear it was homemade—juicy, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous, leaving me more than satisfied, but without that heavy feeling some pub food can give.
Of course, no ABBA-themed brunch would be complete without some live music. Miss Sophie McPherson took the stage and wowed us all with a voice that was as stunning as it was powerful. Her renditions of ABBA’s greatest hits, from Dancing Queen to Mamma Mia, were performed with an energy that was completely contagious. Before long, the dance floor was filled, and the room turned into a full-blown ABBA party!
Whether you’re looking for a Christmas party, celebrating a birthday or hen do, or just need an excuse to gather your friends for a fun afternoon, The Milbourne Arms has you covered.
