The Cumbria Diversity Carnival is set to be an unforgettable celebration of our diverse communities.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 21, 2025!
This vibrant event coincides with Refugee Week, Pride Month, and Learning Disability Week, making it all the more meaningful as they come together to embrace differences in gender, sexuality, culture, and ability.
The parade will kick off from Warwick Street, adjacent to the old fire station, and culminate at Bitts Park.
The event is brought to you by three passionate organizations: Pride in North Cumbria (PiNC), Multicultural Cumbria (MCC), and Carlisle One World Centre, which proudly represents the Cumbria place of sanctuary.
To mark the occasion, the organisers will be hosting “The Big Lunch,” a national initiative aimed at fostering community connection through shared meals.
They hope to provide packed lunches for at least 100 people, with a goal to exceed that number if funding allows.If people want to bring their own food then please do.
Because of the nature of the event and the end location no alcohol is allowed at the event .
Organiser, Pam Eland said “Thanks to generous grants from the Police Crime Commissioner and Cumberland Council, we are well on our way to make this event a memorable annual celebration.
“We invite community groups to participate in creative workshops for crafting banners, headdresses, flags, and other colorful creations that will brighten up the parade. We’re thrilled to announce the participation of two lively drumming bands, with hopes of organizing vehicles to add to the parade’s excitement.
Join in the fun and help make Cumbria’s Diversity Carnival a spectacular and inclusive event. Together, let’s celebrate our differences and create an annual tradition of joy, pride, and unity.
