Queer Cumbria Presents “Queermas” at Workington’s Light Works Festival

Queer Cumbria CIC, the award-winning organisation celebrated for championing Cumbrian LGBT+ voices through art, visibility, and heritage, is partnering with Everyone Here to bring a brand-new festive event, QUEERMAS, to this year’s Light Works Festival at the Carnegie Theatre, Workington. The event will take place on Friday 6 December, from 8pm to 10pm.

Queermas invites attendees of all ages to enjoy an evening of creativity, community, and festive fun. Throughout the event, guests can take part in hands-on workshops led by artists Jess Autumn-Bell and Josie Rogan, where they’ll have the chance to craft unique trinkets to take home, including DIY fabric patches and retro-style Christmas decorations complete with plenty of sparkle.

Adding to the creative atmosphere, the vibrant artist collective Carlidoscope will be hosting life-drawing sessions open to all abilities. A DJ will be providing chilled festive tunes throughout the evening, and of course, no seasonal celebration would be complete without snacks, which will be available for all to enjoy.

Queer Cumbria invites the community to come together in celebration, creativity, and queer joy. The event is free entry and open to all ages, offering a welcoming, inclusive space for everyone.
