Cumbrian teenagers looking for affordable and sustainable promwear are being invited to visit Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw’s pop-up shop later this month.

Thanks to the support of local people with donations of prom dresses, suits and accessories, the charity is hosting the ‘House of Eden’ pop-up in The Lanes shopping Centre from Tuesday 28th May until Saturday June 1st.

The shop will be in the 9 Grapes Lane unit (opposite Muffin Break) and will be open from 12pm – 4pm on the 28th of May and then 10am – 4pm for the rest of the week.

The pop-up shop is designed to help young people and their families who are in need of more affordable promwear, or passionate about sustainable fashion. Shoppers can use the fitting rooms at the pop-up allowing them to select the perfect outfit for the big occasion.

Prom can be a huge expense, especially when buying brand new so the pop-up will offer the perfect opportunity for people to get high quality, or brand new, attire for the celebration – while raising vital funds for the charity, which cares for adults, children and families from across the county.

All funds raised from this project will go directly towards supporting patients and their families who require the care that the hospice provides 24 hours, seven days a week. It costs £13,150 to run the hospice as an organisation daily and initiatives such as this are crucial to helping raise these funds.

Alex Groves, the hospice’s Business Development Manager, said: “We’d like to thank our local community for once again supporting us heavily and donating a range of high-quality promwear.

“Our team can’t wait to open the doors of the pop-up shop and look forward to providing young people the opportunity to get a great looking outfit at an affordable price, while supporting the care the hospice gives local patients and their families.”

Donations to the prom pop-up shop are still being welcomed.

To donate your prom wear you can drop at any of the charity’s shops in Carlisle, or alternatively you can drop off directly at the hospice on Durdar Road. Contact Alex Groves on 01228 817615 for more details.
