EASTER FUN RETURNS TO MUNCASTER CASTLE IN SPRING 2026
Families are invited to celebrate Easter at Muncaster Castle with a season packed full of creativity, adventure, and outdoor fun.

Taking place on 28–29 March, 3–6 April, and 11–12 April 2026, Easter at Muncaster promises memorable days out, set against the dramatic backdrop of one of Cumbria’s most historic castles.
With activities designed to delight children and adults alike, visitors can enjoy a full programme of Easter-themed events alongside access to the castle, gardens, and grounds.
One of the highlights of the Easter programme is the return of Protect the Egg and The Big Egg Drop.

Young inventors are challenged to design and build a protective shield for their egg during the workshop, before putting their creation to the ultimate test as it is dropped from the castle roof.
The workshop runs from 11.00am to 2.30pm in the Old Laundry, with The Big Egg Drop taking place at 3.30pm on the Castle Lawn. Eggs that survive the fall earn a prize sticker, much to the delight of their creators.

Another firm favourite is The Big Muncaster Egg Hunt. Led by Max the Easter Bunny, children will set off from the Playground Lawn at 2.45pm in search of a decorated pebble hidden somewhere on the grounds. Successful hunters can then exchange their find for a delicious Easter treat in the Stable Yard.
For families keen to explore the gardens, the Easter Spring Trail offers a gentle adventure through Muncaster’s beautiful grounds. Visitors are encouraged to follow the trail, uncover the magic word, and redeem a small prize at the Gift Shop.

Easter tickets include entry to the Castle, Gardens, and Hawk and Owl Centre, as well as daily flying displays, have-a-go sessions in the Weapons Hall, and access to the Enchanted Trail and play areas. The Stables Café and Gift Shop will also be open, making it easy to turn a visit into a relaxed full day out. Children’s tickets include all Easter activities as part of the price.
“With its mix of hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and historic surroundings, Easter at Muncaster Castle is set to be a highlight of spring 2026”
Ticket prices start from £21.95 for adults, £14.50 for children aged 3–15, with under 3s going free.
With its mix of hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and historic surroundings, Easter at Muncaster Castle is set to be a highlight of spring 2026 for families looking to make lasting memories.
