Festival Season Is Here!
With summer in full swing it’s time to start packing the tent and getting your wellies ready, its festival season!
Cumbria is never short of great music events and festivals. Rolling green fields, amazing views, Cumbria’s finest ales and handpicked line-ups are ready and waiting.
KENDAL CALLING JULY 27TH – 30TH
As ever Kendal Calling is bringing some huge names to Cumbria. Huge names such as Blossoms, Royal Blood and Kasabian will be headlining this year’s event. Other notable names taking to some of the festival stages are Circa Waves and folk legend Newton Faulkner. This is set to be one of the biggest line-ups to date!
WILD ON THE WALL 4TH – 6TH AUGUST
Children under 12 go FREE!
Wild on the Wall is back this August with a cracking lineup over three days.This much-loved family festival is becoming a firm favourite for festival goers and families alike, as well as dog owners who want everyone in the family to have a good time. Expect great local bands, stunning scenery, food stalls, traders, and many activities to entertain all the family.
THE BEST OF BOOF 18TH – 19TH AUGUST
For the last decade Mighty Boof promotions have been providing West Cumbria with some fantastic events as well as bringing huge names to the area, they have always been a huge supporter of Cumbrias local artists, giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents. This year they will be saying their final goodbye with a bang! The finale event will see legends of their past events returning to their Playground Stage. Artists like The View, Cast, The Lottery Winners and local artists such as The Northern Threads, Danny Dunnery Band and Springfield.
SOLFEST AUGUST 24TH – 27TH
Solfest is one of the county’s biggest family festivals. Each year they make a huge effort to accommodate and entertain children as well as showcasing some great music. With their huge site they have stages that cater to all music tastes, from folk to funk there is something for everyone! This year sees a great line up including – Ocean Colour Scene, The Libertines and De La Soul and many more!
WHITEHAVEN ALIVE
8TH -10TH SEPTEMBER
Following their inaugural event last year Whitehaven Alive have stepped it up this year and are set to bring something brand new to Whitehaven’s Harbour side. With live music from some A-list names such as the Vaccines, Jake Bugg, and Tinie as well and a line-up of other big names in the industry this will be an event that will definitely bring Whitehaven to life. Alongside the music stages there will also be a festival village with market stalls selling a variety of goods and delicious food!
BORDERLANDS FESTIVAL
8TH – 9TH SEPTEMBER
The very first Borderlands Festival, set in the grounds of Carlisle Castle is a groundbreaking event showcasing world-class international musical talent alongside some of the finest acts Cumbria has to offer. Acts over the weekend include Happy Mondays, Friendly Fires and Cumbria’s own Sarah Story will headline the event as well as world renowned DJ’s such as Patrick Topping and Eats Everything.
