Ennerdale Brewery Launches BritHop
A bold new series of British-hop ales.
by Danielle Murphy
Ennerdale Brewery, best known for their iconic Ennerdale Blonde, a staple in pubs across Cumbria, is breaking new ground with the launch of an innovative ale series. Introducing BritHop; a limited-edition collection of six unique beers, each brewed exclusively with British-grown hops.
Inspired by the sounds of the 1990s, each beer in the BritHop series will carry a playful nod to classic pop tracks of the era. The range promises variety and creativity, featuring styles from Bitter and Mild to a summery Hazy Pale Ale, a rich Chocolate Marshmallow Stout, and a deep, warming Dark Ruby Ale.
“Each beer will be brewed once in a limited batch and once it’s gone, it’s gone.”

“The idea is that the beers follow the seasons,” said David Pettitt, the manager at Ennerdale Brewery. “As we head into summer, for the start of July, we’ll be launching a hazy pale, then moving into richer styles like the Chocolate Stout in autumn and the Dark Ruby in winter.”
True to its exclusive nature, the BritHop series won’t be bottled or widely distributed. Each beer will be brewed once in a limited batch and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

The first brew in the series, Bittersweet Sympathy, launched in March and sold out so quickly that the team had to fast-track the next release. As a result, ShakerMaker hit the shelves earlier than expected in May, with another exciting installment planned for later this year.
Pubs and restaurants interested in offering these unique ales are encouraged to get in touch with the Ennerdale Brewery directly. With such limited availability the earlier you place an order the better to avoid missing out!
