Cumbria Guide 11 September / October 2022

Well, here we are heading into Autumn and Winter after what has been a long, long Summer. You would think things would start to slow down but that doesn’t seem to be the case as there is so much happening over the coming months.

Carlisle will shine bright as Carlisle City of Lights returns once again and this year is going to be another belter of a year. If you haven’t been to one of these events yet, then take a look inside for all details and get those dates in your diary.

We focus on one of the worlds oldest fairs as Egremont’s Crab Fair makes a welcome return after three years – so get your best gurning face on.

Love art?

Head to Lancercost this Autumn as Print at the Priory returns later this month, but if it’s the Old Masters you would rather see, then head to Whitehaven’s The Beacon Museum as a Rembrandt will be on display from September 24th.

From Lighthouses to Wainwrights to Gals who Gig, we have a real eclectic mix for you as well as many tasty recipes for you to enjoy.

If you are looking for a bit of light entertainment this Autumn then take a good look at what’s going on right here in Cumbria. Many top acts are heading our way so please try and stay local this year as our venues are going to need your support now more than ever.

With the impending energy crisis heading our way, each and every one of us is going to be personally affected, however, venues – shops – pubs – restaurants and hotels are going to be hit with eye-watering bills that can and probably will see many go down – that is unless we support them.

We can help and ensure that we have a great local business community on the other side by simply choosing local – local – local where possible as often as possible, even for the smallest of things.

Thanks

Stephen
