Visitors to the The Beacon Museum can look forward to a vibrant programme of exhibitions and family-friendly events throughout May and June, offering something for all ages.
At the heart of the museum’s offering are two major exhibitions running across both months. I Grew Up 90s (until 21 June) invites visitors on a nostalgic journey through one of the most iconic decades of recent history, celebrating pop culture, toys and trends that defined a generation.

Alongside this, the J.D. Kenworthy exhibition (also until 21 June) showcases the work of the renowned West Cumbrian portrait artist, bringing local history to life through a remarkable collection of portraits.
Families are particularly well catered for, with interactive experiences adding a hands-on dimension to the museum visit.
A highlight for younger visitors is the Pet Encounter sessions taking place on 30 and 31 May, where children can meet and interact with a variety of animals in a fun and educational setting.

The museum’s programme continues its focus on creativity and community, building on a wider calendar of workshops, talks and activities designed to inspire curiosity and engagement.
Whether exploring art, stepping back into the 1990s, or enjoying a memorable family day out, there are plenty of reasons to visit!
