St Bees School hosts Study Skills Fair to empower students
This week, St Bees School proudly hosted a dynamic Study Skills Fair aimed at equipping Year 10 to Year 13 students with essential tools for effective studying.
With examinations on the horizon, the fair provided a timely opportunity for students to enhance their study techniques and strategies.
The Study Skills Fair was a comprehensive event covering a wide array of study methodologies, from Dual Coding to The Leitner System, Revision Timetabling to Healthy Eating for Brain Power, and Meditation to Mind Mapping.

Led by our dedicated teachers, who shared their own experiences and insights, students had the chance to explore various techniques in an engaging and interactive environment.
Structured like speed dating, the afternoon consisted of 10-minute sessions at 11 different stations. This format allowed students to sample each study skill, providing them with a diverse range of tools to incorporate into their study routines.
It was a whirlwind of learning and discovery as students delved into different approaches to studying.

Mrs Vanessa Johnstone, Director of Studies, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating,
“We believe that mastering these study skills will make a significant difference for our exam groups as they enter the final stretch before their IGCSEs and A levels.”
The fair aimed not only to equip students with practical study techniques but also to instill confidence as they approach their upcoming examinations.

The St Bees School community is rallying behind all students, offering support and encouragement as they navigate their academic journey.
