Party in the Park returns to Workington for a FREE WEEKEND of Music, Celebration and Community
A much-loved Workington community event is set to return this summer as Party In The Park takes over Vulcan Park on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July, bringing together live entertainment, food, music and community celebrations for all ages.
Delivered by Everyone Here in partnership with Workington Town Council, the free weekend-long event will transform Vulcan Park into a vibrant hub of creativity, fun and community spirit, with something for everyone to enjoy.
Running from 11am–5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, visitors can enjoy a packed programme of activities including live music, comedy, community performances, an open mic and talent show, food and drink vendors, funfair rides, creative activities and much more.

As part of the weekend celebrations, audiences can also enjoy a FREE outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet by the acclaimed touring theatre company Oddsocks Productions.
The performance will take place in Vulcan Park on Friday 3rd July and Saturday 4th July from 7pm–9pm, bringing Oddsocks’ trademark blend of comedy, audience participation and outdoor theatre magic to Workington.

Saturday’s Party In The Park programme, hosted by Liam Janiak from CRFM, includes Rosehill’s Comedy Club, community acts, a Talent Show showcasing local performers, a dedicated Northern Soul Tent, archery, axe throwing, rodeo bull rides, darts, football activities with Workington AFC and face painting.

Sunday will be hosted by Top Hat & Heels and will feature a community Fancy Dress Competition with prizes to be won, alongside skateboarding activities and film screenings, a Renaissance Tent, a Pre-Loved Swap Shop, darts, face painting and a range of family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.

Visitors attending the Oddsocks performances are encouraged to bring chairs or picnic blankets and prepare for the Cumbrian weather. Refreshments will be available to purchase, and audiences are also welcome to bring their own picnics.
Party In The Park celebrates the people and community spirit that make Workington such a special place. The event forms part of a wider programme of community events and cultural activity being delivered across the town by Everyone Here and Workington Town Council.
Kieran Sheehan, Director of Everyone Here, said:
“Party In The Park is all about bringing people together. It’s a chance to celebrate local talent, enjoy great entertainment and spend time with friends, family and neighbours in one of Workington’s mostloved community spaces.”

Workington Town Council, said:
