New music from Paul Shepherd – Check out his new EP
Check out this new music from Paul Shepherd – The West Cumbrian singer-songwriter didn’t let lockdown stop him when he released his new 4 track EP ‘Hearing is Believing’ on the 20th of April.
Paul cites influences like The Doors and The Beatles along with more modern performers – Oasis, Jake Bugg, Stone Roses and Gerry Cinnamon. Hearing is Believing is a great guitar-driven EP that incorporates elements from all the above.
It’s a top collection of songs and 21-year-old Paul said many were written when he first picked up the guitar: “I have been gigging since I was 14 and I concentrated on performing live but I was also writing along the way and dropping original songs into my sets.

I have done other demos with bands but this is the first time I thought I’ll put something together for release and it was quite a big thing for me. It was produced by Liam Wright and I can’t praise him enough. I study music production at Futureworks in Manchester, which meant I was able to record certain sections in their studio to get a more polished sound but other parts, like some of the acoustic and vocals, were done in my bedroom.”
Paul recorded the EP between August and January and only finished production a few weeks before releasing the first single ‘This is history’ at the end of March.
He’s started working on another EP release later this year.
