New Music – Deaf Eric: One Last Step is the latest album from Whitehaven’s Mark Blenkinsopp who performs his brand of electronic tunes as Deaf Eric.
“This is my third album,” said Mark. “The last two sold a few copies and I thought the money raised from this album would be best donated to Soundwave in Workington. They are a charity based organisation that gives opportunities for kids to get into music by providing equipment, lessons and a chance to record their work.
The album has the backing of Jez Willis from Utah Saints, which is fantastic, he was raised in Brampton and always supports local charities.
I’ve been producing music for about 15 years and playing instruments from an early age. Over the last few years, I’ve got into music theory and honing my production skills to get them up to a reasonable level.
I don’t have a studio right now so this album was produced on a laptop with various bits of gear in my living room but it’s made me very productive and given me a chance to concentrate on writing and creating music.”
Deaf Eric has headlined festivals over the years but Mark is content to focus on the production and has created four music videos for the new album – which are fantastic and well worth searching for on Youtube.
