Penrith Golf Club’s Lady Captain Swings into Action for BEEP Doctors – Raises £1,000 with 54-Hole Challenge
We at BEEP Doctors (BASICS Cumbria) are thrilled with the incredible efforts of June Doyle, Lady Captain at Penrith Golf Club, who recently completed a remarkable golfing challenge in support of our charity.
Last Monday June 9th, June teed off at 6:00am and didn’t stop until she sank her final putt at 5:30pm — completing three full rounds (54 holes) of golf in just under 12 hours. The challenge, titled ‘3 Rounds in 12 Hours’, was taken on to raise vital funds for BEEP Doctors, and June certainly delivered – already raising £1,000 and counting.
Throughout the day, June was joined by three different playing partners and was cheered on by enthusiastic supporters, fellow club members, and friends. The course was decorated with banners, balloons, and even fancy dress, creating a fantastic atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the event.
This amazing fundraiser is part of June’s commitment to BEEP Doctors as her Charity of the Year during her captaincy. Every pound raised helps our volunteer doctors continue to deliver emergency pre-hospital care across Cumbria, often in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
“We are incredibly grateful to June for her amazing dedication and energy,” said a spokesperson from BEEP Doctors.

“Taking on such a physical and mental challenge is no small feat, and the money she has raised will directly support our lifesaving work. June is a true community champion — and we are extremely grateful”.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to June and everyone at Penrith Golf Club who supported the event through donations, encouragement, and cheer.
Supporting BEEP Doctors is a truly worthwhile cause — because supporting us means supporting the ability to save lives. While our highly trained volunteer doctors provide expert emergency care, it is only made possible through the generous support of the public, workplaces, and community groups. Without funding, we simply couldn’t be out on the road, providing vital pre-hospital interventions for those in need.
We welcome all donations and are grateful to those who choose to nominate BEEP Doctors as their charity of the year. Saving lives is a team effort — and it starts with you.

We look forward to an official handover of her fundraising with June later in the year, where we can thank her properly and celebrate her fantastic contribution.
