Help bring whisky-making legend Lanty Slee to life
Local storyteller and musician, Steve Wharton, is looking for support to publish his story about Lake District whisky-maker, Lanty Slee.
Blending the tales of Lanty, St Patrick and folk music, Steve’s heartwarming storytelling show has been performed throughout the Lakes. Now he’s hoping to reach new audiences by producing it as a run of 100 limited-edition paperbacks, audiobook and e-book with the help of a crowdfunding campaign.

Rewards for pledging money toward the publication costs range from receiving your own copy of the book through to a private performance of the one-hour show in your home or holiday cottage anywhere in Cumbria.
Steve came across Lanty Slee’s marriage certificate whilst searching through his own family records from Ulverston, which inspired him to start writing a story about Lanty, whisky and identity. He has also uncovered evidence which suggests St Patrick was a Cumbrian too!
