The Call of The Wild – Oh Yes! Wild on the Wall is back this August with a cracking lineup over three days.
This much-loved family festival is becoming a firm favourite for festival goers and families alike, as well as dog owners who want everyone in the family to have a good time.
Expect great local bands, stunning scenery, food stalls, traders, and many activities to entertain all the family.

Sited on the stunning historic borderlands that has witnessed wild savagery from the Picts, Romans, and ma rauding Reivers, who all went wild at some point, but these days you are invited to go wild and have fun and a brilliant time with family and friends in a more merry manner.
The festival begins on Friday, August 4 and runs until Sunday, August 6, but you are welcome to land on Thursday, get set up, and relax before the merriment kicks off. You can camp over until Monday, making a great weekend even longer and better.
The event is run by local musician, entrepreneur, and all-around local legend Dan Russell.
I asked Dan how it all started, and he said, “I own the Source Venue, and we have so much talent here that I wanted to celebrate just that. I am in a band and enjoy the scene we have here. The land is used for grazing but not much else, so I thought, why not? The event is about celebrating, promoting and showcasing Cumbrian talent, and people appreciate that.

The backdrop is beautiful, set near the Roman Wall, where a river runs through the land with stunning views that help make the event special.
This year, Wild on the Wall will run for three nights due to demand, and we want to showcase as much local talent as we can. The two days were not enough, so we are expanding.
I love the atmosphere at Wild on the Wall, and to watch so many families pitch up and enjoy themselves over the weekend is fantastic. Every night we have a big bonfire and gather around it; it’s quite a spectacle.
This year, we have over 40 local acts, including local favourites My Little Brother and Hardwick Circus, as well as a few guests from further afield, such as the Bagdaddies, and lots of great food stalls, including Stone Baked Pizzas, Tapas, Ice Cream, and Vegetarian options, so I think there is something for everyone.”
So grab your tickets, bring your kids, and don’t forget your dog—4 nights of camping, 3 days of music, and a lifetime of memories are all to be made and enjoyed at Wild on the Wall 2023.
