EskFest Line Up Announced
This summer, EskFest will return to the Lake District for its second appearance.
The independent festival, which is based in the Eskdale Valley, was hailed a resounding success in its debut year. With an impressive number of visiting artists and top local acts confirmed to appear this July, it looks set to be even better this time around.
The headliners include nationally renowned band, Marsicans and Cumbrian indie rock favourites ‘The Chadelics’ having impressed on the Kendal Calling Main Stage and made an impression on the Manchester circuit in 2016.
Pop punk outfit Fight For Friday and leading acoustic duo Paper Cranes are also on the line-up and are joined by highly-regarded brass pop group Atomic Brass, the west coast’s newly-renamed The Black Guards and Molly Warburton. Lancaster band LOWES. who have had widespread radio play across the region in recent months, will also be worth a watch as they launch their busy festival season. Riotous ska band Irie Yoyo will play fresh from the Edinburgh live circuit, along with Liverpool pop act Panda Cult.
One of EskFest’s organisers, Thomas Smith, said: “After the massive success of EskFest in 2016, the festival is back for its second year with the ethos of not getting bigger, just getting better.
In addition to three music stages, this year’s EskFest will feature a Cumbrian film event, an open air ceilidh, live comedy, spoken word and poetry and a busking stage. There will be plenty of entertainment for all ages, with a cocktail bar, photo booth, henna and face painting and kids entertainment and games.
Festival goers can browse great local food stalls and admire art installations, a tipi village and merchandise stall.
Thomas said: “We had a phenomenal line up of local talent, from music to brews, incredibly generous volunteers and a mean crowd who stuck it out through every element mother nature could throw at them. So I guess this year is about giving back to those supporters, as well as continuing to celebrate even more of the incredible talent at home here in Cumbria.”
Tickets are limited to just 450, so early booking is advised.
