Celebrating Inspirational Women: Nominations Open for Cumbria Woman of the Year 2025
The Cumbria Woman of the Year committee is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 awards, continuing its tradition of honouring exceptional women who make a profound impact on their communities.
Since its inception in 1990, the Cumbria Woman of the Year award has recognised women across the county who demonstrate outstanding dedication, leadership, and service. Alongside the prestigious Cumbria Woman of the Year title, sponsored by Nuclear Waste Services, there are three additional categories, these are:
- Outstanding Contribution – Sponsored by Muckle LLP, recognising women who have made a significant impact in their field or community.
- Service to the Community – Sponsored by GRAHAM, celebrating those who dedicate their time and efforts to improving the lives of others.
- Special Achievement – Sponsored by Amentum, honouring individuals who have overcome challenges or achieved remarkable success.
“We are constantly amazed by the selfless dedication of women across Cumbria,” says Val Armstrong, Chair of the Cumbria Woman of the Year committee. “Their contributions shape our communities, and this award is a way to celebrate their achievements and inspire future generations.”
Nominations are open until 30th June 2025, and the process remains simple and confidential.
Anyone can nominate a deserving woman by completing the online form available on the official website. The judging panel will carefully review all submissions to select this year’s honourees.
The award ceremony, headline sponsored by Nuclear Waste Services, hosted at Roundthorn, will take place later this year, bringing together past winners, nominees, and community leaders to celebrate the incredible contributions of women across the region.
