The Source Collective is a grassroots music and arts venue located at Atlas Works in Denton Holme, Carlisle. Since coming under new management in 2021, it has developed into a thriving, community-focused events and arts hub.
The venue hosts a wide range of activities including live music, open mics, cinema nights showcasing cult classics, charity fundraisers, games nights, LGBTQIA+ events, poetry readings, book launches and more.
The core ethos of The Source Collective is to provide a safe, comfortable and inclusive space for creatives and audiences from all walks of life. The venue operates a strict no-hate policy, ensuring that everyone who enters feels welcome and supported.

As a grassroots venue, The Source Collective is powered by its community. Attendance, word-of-mouth, and sharing events play a vital role in keeping the space active and accessible. With many exciting plans scheduled throughout 2026, the venue continues to grow and evolve.
Regular Events
- Weekly Open Space (usually Thursdays and/or Fridays) Free entry.
A relaxed, low-pressure open-mic environment with free rehearsal space available. The venue provides a full PA system, drum kit, piano and microphones. - Live Music – Every Week
Weekly gigs featuring a variety of artists. Full listings are available via Facebook and the website.
Monthly Events
- Speakeasy Open Mic
Last Wednesday of every month Free entry. An open-mic night dedicated to poetry, spoken word, live readings and acoustic music. - Games Night – Monthly
Large-group social games such as Blood on the Clocktower, Werewolves, and Three Rooms and a Boom, offering an easy way to meet new people. - Cinema Night – Monthly
Cult classic film screenings as part of Carlisle Cult Cinema, complete with themed cocktails, comfortable seating and popcorn.
